Privacy Policy
Brio Atlas provides fitness programming, workout tracking, coaching communication, hydration tracking, and related progress tools. This policy explains the information Brio Atlas uses to provide those features.
Information you provide
We may process your account details, profile information, training goals, body measurements, workout records, exercise feedback, pain or injury notes, hydration entries, coach-client messages, uploaded profile image, and preferences. Payment information is processed by the applicable payment provider and is not stored as full card data by Brio Atlas.
Optional weekly progress photos
You may upload progress photos and an optional note, privately by default. Brio Atlas resizes images and removes embedded location metadata before storage. Photos are stored in private cloud storage. Optional AI review is for adults aged 18 or older and requires separate consent per check-in. Authorized photos, notes, goals, bodyweight and training records are sent to OpenAI for a draft assessment. We request no stored API response; provider security retention policies may still apply. Revocation prevents future processing and removes saved Brio Atlas assessments, but cannot undo processing already started. Shared assessments are available to the authorized active coach. Program changes require explicit coach approval. AI impressions are not body-composition measurements. You may explicitly share a check-in with your currently linked coach. Sharing does not transfer automatically to a new coach; access requires an active connection and your permission for that check-in. Turning off sharing stops future access, but cannot undo a copy a coach has already made. You may delete individual check-ins in Progress; permanent account cleanup and Fresh start also remove these photos. Photos remain available during the account’s 30-day recovery window. Photo uploads are optional.
Connected health data
If Apple Health or another health source is offered and you choose to connect it, Brio Atlas requests only the data types shown in the permission screen. Access is optional and can be changed in device settings. Health and fitness data is used to provide app functionality and personalized fitness guidance. It is not used for advertising, sold, or shared with data brokers.
Nutrition logs and meal plans
Your meal logs, macro amounts and notes are stored in your account and visible to your active coach. Coaches can assign meal plans but cannot rewrite your food log. Saved meal presets are private to their owner. Editing a preset does not change previously logged meals.
Apple Health linking and reminders
When available in the iPhone app, Apple Health linking is read-only and requires your choice of data types and Apple permission. Selected records are stored in your Brio account with their source identifiers. Imported Apple Health records are private by default. Optional coach sleep sharing is described below; sending derived recovery information to AI requires the separate choice described here. Optional Recovery insights analyzes your imported measurements and check-in answers within Brio. Separately, for each individual program preview, you may explicitly choose to send derived recovery insights and relevant check-in information to OpenAI. The preview is stored privately in Brio and program changes require approval. Provider security retention policies may apply. Turning off Recovery insights prevents future biometric previews and blocks applying pending biometric previews, but cannot undo processing already started. Biometric phone notifications are not enabled by this consent. Disconnecting or removing a data type deletes the corresponding Brio imports without changing Apple Health. Daily phone reminders are optional, scheduled on your device, and use generic text rather than private coaching or health details. You can turn them off in Brio or iPhone Settings.
Sleep sharing with your coach is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, your active coach can view imported sleep duration and stages from the last 30 days. Turning it off stops future access; it cannot undo information already viewed or copied. Sharing ends when the coaching relationship is paused, ended, or changed, and does not transfer to another coach. This choice does not enable AI sharing or share other Apple Health records.
Phone notifications
If you enable remote notifications, we store an Apple push notification token associated with your account and device, your notification preferences, and delivery records. We use Apple’s push notification service to deliver enabled message, client-activity, and personal-guidance alerts. Lock-screen alerts use generic text rather than private messages, client names, or health measurements. Opening an alert takes you to the relevant information inside Brio. Notification categories can be controlled in Settings; iPhone notification permission is also required.
AI coaching conversations
When you use Brio Coach, your message, recent conversation, and relevant account, onboarding, program, and workout context are sent to OpenAI to generate a response. This context may include information you have provided about training limitations, injuries, or nutrition. Conversations and responses are saved in Brio. We request no stored API response; provider security retention policies may still apply. Optional photo reviews and biometric program previews have the separate consent controls described above.
How information is used
We use information to operate and secure your account, save your settings across devices, generate and adjust fitness programming, calculate progress and execution metrics, facilitate coaching, provide support, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
Sharing
Information may be shared with service providers that host, secure, authenticate, or process payments for Brio Atlas. If you join a coach-managed account, the connected coach can view the training, feedback, and progress information needed to provide that service. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.
Retention and deletion
We retain account information while your account is active and as needed for security, legal, and billing obligations. You can request deletion from Brio Atlas’s Settings screen. Requesting deletion makes your account inactive and starts a 30-day recovery window. During that window, sign in with the same account and explicitly select Restore account to recover your retained data; signing in alone does not cancel deletion. After the deadline, recovery is unavailable and scheduled permanent cleanup removes account data and stored progress photos, except records retained for applicable legal obligations. Cancel subscription renewal before requesting deletion; restoring an account does not restart a canceled subscription.
Your choices
You may edit profile details and preferences, disconnect optional integrations, leave a coach relationship where available, and delete your account. Device permissions can be changed through iOS Settings.
Fitness—not medical care
Brio Atlas is a fitness product and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. Seek qualified medical advice for injuries, pain, or health concerns.
